Beamsley water pump MYD36654 (c) YDNPA, 2023

A cast iron water pump in classical style with a lion’s head outlet. There is a stand attached to the base to hold the container being filled. The pump was made by Glenfield and Kennedy Ltd of Kilmarnock in Scotland. They produced this design in the 1870s and 1880s and it was sold all over Britain.

Location

600 metres from Bolton Bridge roundabout, on A59 to Harrogate, take left hand turn into Beamsley Lane. Pump is on roadside in Beamsley village opposite Thatchers Cottage.
