Bridge End occupies a prominent position overlooking the River Wharfe in Grassington. This Victorian terrace once had a clear view of trains from Bradford and Leeds as they arrived at Threshfield Station. Because of this the houses used to be called ‘Boiled Egg Row’ because wives had just enough time to put their husbands’ tea on before they arrived home from work. The fashionable red tiled roofs face the river. At the back, the developer ran out of money and used cheaper grey Welsh slate instead.
