Gibbs Hall in Dentdale MYD34728 (c) YDNPA, 2023

This derelict and roofless farmhouse in Dentdale was first built around the turn of the 18th century: its porch, a later addition, also lacks a roof. Although the house displays many signs of change two splendid and original windows survive on the first floor with yet another below. These have chamfered mullions, typical of the period, and arched lintels which are not so easy to find. On the left-hand gable are the remains of a corbelled chimney suggesting that the house originally had a firehood. Although the building has been consolidated care must be taken when visiting.
