Grassington Bridge liability marker MYD36600 (c) YDNPA, 2023

One of originally a pair of triangular cast iron bridge liability markers showing where responsibility for maintenance of the bridge and its carriageway began and ended. The surviving example stands at the end of the south parapet of Grassington Bridge. It is painted white with the raised letters “W R” picked out in black. Erected by West Riding in the late 19th century.

Location

In Grassington on the B6265 going west. The marker is at the bottom of the hill at the east end of the bridge by the south wall.
