Pant Bridge (Little Bridges), Austwick MYD24146 (c) YDNPA, 2023

Two clapper bridges linked by a partly stone flagged causeway. They are reputedly of 15th century date. One bridge has a single stone slab about 75cm wide and about 3 metres long supported on a rubble base at both banks. The second bridge to the south east comprises three slabs on four piers with a total length of about 4 metres.

Location

If coming from the East on the A65 take the first turning right signed to Austwick . As this road enters the village look for a sign on the left "Pant Lane". At the bottom of this lane bear left along an enclosed track for about 150 metres to reach the first of the two little bridges. The second is a short distance further on.
