Harden Bridge isolation hospital MYD1733 (c) YDNPA, 2023

An isolation hospital, originally the Settle Rural District and Infectious Diseases Hospital. It was built 1905-08 and designed by T A Foxcroft. It comprised administration, double isolation, scarlet fever and laundry blocks, with a combined mortuary and discharge block. It is built of stone with Welsh slate roofs. It now houses an outdoor pursuits centre.

Location

Situated on the A65 approximately 2 miles north from the end of the Settle bypass (A65/B6480 junction). The centre is on the left hand side of the A65 just before the turn signed for Slaidburn and Eldroth.. No public access. View from roadside.
