Cast iron milepost dating to the late 19th century. White painted with black lettering. Triangular shape, on left face with hand pointing right ‘Leyburn 6 miles’. On right face, hand pointing left ‘Hawes 11 miles’. On triangular top panel ‘Leyburn H.D.’ for Leyburn Highway District.

Lies beside A684 on Temple Bank, 350 metres east of the junction with the B6160 and less than a mile west of Swinithwaite.
