How Hill hillfort
Description

How Hill hillfort from the air MYD5166 (c) YDNPA, 2023
How Hill Iron Age hillfort occupies a strategic position commanding both the Walburn gap and access to Upper Swaledale. The remains of the bank and ditch of the hillfort are still clearly visible on the steeper, west side and although ploughed during the Medieval period, the line of the ramparts is partly fossilized in the ridge and furrow and lynchets that cover the rest of the hill.
