Iron Age spearhead, Kelco Cave MYD3811 © The Craven

This iron spear was found along with the chain and handle from a cooking pot in Greater Kelco Cave near Settle. They all probably date to the Iron Age. A spear like this, mounted on a light wooden shaft would have been both a formidable weapon and also a useful hunting tool. This item is on display at the Craven Museum.
