This house stands on a busy main road and care is needed when visiting. When it was built the land immediately to the west was already occupied, so the new, three storey house was simply built on. With the exception of one on the top floor all of the windows have mullions: two each to those on the ground and first floors; one to those above: all are of the flat faced variety from the 18th century. The matching door case is formed from only three stones and the whole presents a unified appearance, barely altered since the eighteenth century.

Location

From Skipton on A65, the house lies on the right hand side of the main road in Long Preston 300 metres north of the Maypole Inn.
