These allotments are the last ones left in the village after two other sites were built on. Local people grow a variety of fruit, vegetables and flowers there and competition at the two annual horticultural shows is fierce. Ten years ago, it was difficult to find enough people to take plots on, but today, thanks to an increasing concern with the quality of intensively produced food, there is a long waiting list.

Location

Up the hill from Grassington Market Square, turn left on Chapel Street following signs to Town Head. At Town Head Farm the road bends left and downhill. View allotments over the wall on the right about 100 metres down the lane. No public access.
