Villages throughout the country were provided with stocks for the punishment of minor offenders from at least Medieval times. Threshfield’s stocks probably date to the 17th century and were restored in the late 20th century. They have gritstone shafts and wooden footboards.

On B6265 from Skipton take the right turn opposite the Old Hall Inn. The stocks lie in the walled village green beside this turning and bordering the B6265.
