Yarnbury henge
Description
Yarnbury henge is situated in a commanding position high above Wharfedale. It is similar to the henge called Castle Dykes in Wensleydale. Both are unusual in being situated on high ground rather than the more normal riverside terrace.

Yarnbury is a small henge measuring 31 metres in diameter between the centres of a turf covered stony bank. The bank is about 4 metres wide with a maximum height of 0.5 metres. There is an internal rock cut ditch about 3 metres wide and 0.5 metres maximum depth. There is a single entrance 2 metres wide to the south east. There is no trace of internal structures.
