Description

Carved stones, Addleborough MYD4221 (c) YDNPA, 2023
Prominently situated at SD 94608812 on the north crest of Addlebrough, a large flat topped hill, are the remains of a cairn visible as a low mutilated stony mound 10.5m maximum diameter and 0.6m high. The mutilation (partially from robbing, natural erosion, and construction of an Ordnance Survey pillar on its north side) has revealed several massive boulders of the interior, two of which have definite cup marks and two having possible cup marks. The boulder at the north west has about 25 cups, three of them surrounded by rings. Two OS Bench Marks are also visible on the stones.
