Flascoe Bridge, Austwick MYD24147 (c) YDNPA, 2023

A clapper type footbridge reputedly of 15th century date. It has five limestone and slate flags on four rubble piers. It is about 75cm wide and a total of 10 metres long. It is on a walled track, probably part of an early road system from Feizor to Austwick. There is a ford adjacent for animals and wheeled traffic.

Location

From centre of Austwick head north past the school. After about 100 metres take the bridleway on the right signed to Feizor. Flascoe Bridge is about 300 metres down this track
